Body Sculpting following Major Weight Loss
Following significant weight loss, either by dieting or with the help of a bariatric surgical procedure (e.g. gastric sleve or bypass), there is major flabbiness and excess skin at various areas of the body (usually in the abdomen, the buttocks, the inside of the thighs, the upper arms, the breasts and the neck).
The aim of body sculpting is to remove flabby skin so that the body may acquire an aesthetically and functionally acceptable appearance.
The procedure includes a set of plastic surgery procedures, such as breast lift, brachioplasty (arm lift), neck lift, thigh and buttock lift and circular skin liposuction or circular abdominoplasty (‘tummy tuck’), which is the commonest procedure performed in such cases.
